FAQs
Can I change the schedule later?
Ask the team to confirm availability and any applicable terms before changing frequency, days or timing; a requested change is not automatically confirmed.
Do you bring cleaning materials?
We can bring materials on request. If you prefer specific brands, let us know in advance.
Is there a minimum number of hours?
The hourly visit starts at five hours. In Doha it costs QAR100 per cleaner without materials or QAR130 per cleaner with materials; an extra hour is QAR25 per cleaner, subject to agreement and availability. Hourly service is unavailable on Friday and the latest start is 4 pm. Confirm other-area pricing with the team before booking.
How do I pay?
Confirm the available payment method and the booking or payment record with the team before arranging payment.
House maid services: choose the work you need
A request for a house maid can mean different things to different households. You may want a cleaner for a defined visit, help with a recurring task list or a monthly live-in arrangement. Start by describing the work and the frequency rather than assuming that one title includes every domestic responsibility. The team can then confirm the service, availability, price and applicable terms for your actual request.
Write down the rooms you use, the tasks that accumulate and what you can manage between visits. A large home does not always need every room cleaned during each appointment, while a smaller busy home may have substantial kitchen, bathroom or laundry work. This practical description is more useful than choosing a package from property size alone.
A household brief to send before booking
- Your area in Qatar, property type, occupied room count and bathroom count.
- The main cleaning and organisation tasks, with priorities in order.
- Whether laundry or ironing is requested, with any special care requirements.
- Accessible work areas and any heavy furniture or fixed items restricting access.
- Your preferred date or intended monthly period, and the arrangement you want to discuss.
- The materials option and any delicate finishes, pets or other preparation considerations.
Photographs can help explain unusual buildup or access, but they should focus on the work area. You do not need to include family members, identity documents or private household records in an initial cleaning inquiry. If another person is booking for you, make sure they describe the same tasks and understand who will receive the team and approve changes.
Hourly cleaning and monthly live-in help have different terms
Compare the hourly home-cleaning service (Arabic) when your priority is a defined visit rather than a monthly arrangement. That service page explains how tasks, materials and the planned duration are agreed. Confirm the requirements for your own address before booking.
An hourly visit is organised around a limited booked period and a task list. It can be useful for routine cleaning, selected rooms or agreed ironing and organisation. Lower priority work may need another visit if the list exceeds the available time. A recurring request also needs appointment confirmation; it does not automatically reserve a permanent slot or the same cleaner for every visit.
Monthly live-in help is a different arrangement involving accommodation, continuing duties and its own duration and conditions. Dar Al Mahara currently offers Kenyan monthly live-in help only, from QAR2,500 per month, subject to availability and confirmed terms. It is not an overseas recruitment, transfer or alternative-nationality offer. Ask the monthly department on 70044420 about the actual duties and arrangements before deciding.
| Household need | Option to discuss | Key question |
|---|---|---|
| Selected cleaning tasks on a particular day | Hourly visit | What fits the booked time and priorities? |
| Repeated support throughout the month | Monthly live-in help | Are the duties and residence arrangements suitable? |
| Upholstery, carpets or another specialist item | Separate specialist service | What method, quantity and scope are required? |
| A care or other non-cleaning need | Separate confirmation of the actual request | Is an appropriately qualified service available at all? |
Understand the hourly charge before selecting the team
Within Doha, the basic booking is five hours per cleaner at QAR100 without materials or QAR130 with materials. An extra hour is QAR25 per cleaner, after agreement and availability confirmation. State the cleaner count explicitly. Two cleaners for five hours with materials total QAR260 for that stated scope; QAR130 is not the price for an unspecified team.
Hourly service is unavailable on Fridays, and the latest start is 4 pm. Ask for the actual available appointment rather than assuming a time is open because it falls within those limits. Outside Doha, obtain a quotation for the area, materials and team arrangement. Travel distance and a search result near your home do not establish the price or arrival time.
For Al Khor and Al Dhakhira, the approved package is five cleaners for five hours at QAR500 without materials or QAR650 with materials, with availability and scope confirmed before booking. Keep the full number-and-duration description when comparing it with a Doha visit. It is not a general one-cleaner rate for other areas or a package that can be divided into a different booking without confirmation.
Make room tasks specific enough to follow
For a kitchen, distinguish accessible worktops, the sink, external cabinet fronts and floors from the inside of appliances or cupboards. If you want an internal area considered, mention it before booking. Heavy buildup, repairs or specialist work may need a different scope. Cooking, assistance with cooking and hospitality are not services provided by Dar Al Mahara.
For bedrooms and living areas, identify the accessible surfaces, bed arrangement and agreed light organisation. Keep private drawers or cupboards outside the list unless you explicitly want a task reviewed. The cleaner should not have to decide which family papers to discard or how to reorganise confidential belongings. Prepare those items yourself and provide clear boundaries.
For bathrooms, state the number, condition and particular areas you want reviewed. Cleaning a bathroom is different from repairing a leak, opening pipework or solving a fault in ventilation. If you know of a defect, describe it separately. Do not expect a routine cleaning visit to repair the source of recurring water or damage to a surface.
Specialist cleaning is a separate question
Sofa washing, carpet cleaning, tank cleaning, marble polishing and pest treatment need information specific to the service. They should not be assumed to come with an ordinary hourly visit or monthly arrangement. Ask for a separate scope, method and price, and discuss the order of appointments where preparation or aftercare may affect another service.
Prepare laundry and ironing instructions
If laundry or ironing is included in the agreed duties, separate items according to their care instructions and identify pieces that need specialist handling. Similar colour or appearance does not establish that garments can be washed or ironed together. Mention delicate decoration, repairs or an existing mark rather than expecting the cleaner to identify every hidden issue without information.
Provide the relevant appliance instructions and explain any unusual controls before use. A person familiar with one washing machine or iron may still need guidance for a different model. Do not ask for a stronger setting or product as a substitute for checking the label. When an instruction is unclear, the task should be discussed rather than completed by guesswork.
Materials need to match the surfaces
For a booking without materials, ask what tools and products you should prepare for the confirmed tasks. Keep products in their original labelled containers. A collection of bottles does not show which product is suitable for a finish, and a homemade mixture with no instructions is not a substitute for an appropriate cleaner. Do not mix products to try to speed up the work.
For a booking with materials, identify marble, wood, special coatings and any manufacturer care information. Mention pets, children and preferences about fragrance before the appointment. The materials option does not imply that every specialist machine is included, or that one product can be used on every surface. Follow preparation and reuse instructions for the actual service.
Access, privacy and the person responsible
Arrange keys, building permissions, lifts and reception procedures before the appointment. Remove small personal items from the agreed work areas and identify what should remain closed. Furniture moving is not provided. If an area is blocked by heavy furniture or a fixed appliance, show it in the inquiry and ask what can be cleaned in its existing position.
Choose one household contact to explain priorities and communicate with the department. Several people giving conflicting instructions can change the work without a clear decision about what should be postponed. Keep the task list together and review a new request against the available time. Respect the cleaner’s privacy as well as the household’s, and do not circulate personal staff details to arrange unrelated bookings.
If you will be away
Share the confirmed quotation and checklist with the receiver. Specify whether that person can approve extra hours, a price change or additional tasks, or whether the department must contact you first. Opening the door is not necessarily authority to change the agreement. Make sure any aftercare or outstanding observation reaches the person who will use or maintain the space later.
Starting a monthly arrangement clearly
For monthly live-in help, prepare a short explanation of the daily household routine, equipment, sensitive areas and responsibilities. Review the residence arrangements, start and end of the service period, agreed duties and contact for questions. Do not assume that the headline monthly amount explains every condition, or that a different nationality is available because it appears in an older table or search result.
Cleaning support does not automatically include childcare, elder care or medical responsibilities. Explain any separate need before relying on it and ask about availability, capability and scope. The company does not offer cooking, hospitality, driving or furniture moving. A live-in arrangement is not permission to add unrelated duties without discussion or to treat time as unlimited.
Review changes before they become instructions
A guest staying for several weeks, a house renovation or a change in occupied rooms can alter the workload. Tell the relevant department what has changed and whether it is temporary or ongoing. Ask how the duties and terms should be reviewed, rather than assuming the original arrangement covers every new circumstance. A specialist job may need a separate booking even when regular help is already in place.
For an hourly appointment, review extra-time requests before the booked period ends. Additional time depends on agreement and availability; it is not guaranteed because a task remains. If a change cannot be arranged, record what needs another visit. For a monthly arrangement, ask about its own change and follow-up terms rather than importing conditions from an hourly booking.
Check the result against the agreed priorities
At handover, start with the tasks identified as essential. Describe any observation by its location and the task expected, and ask what was completed, deferred or inaccessible. Cleaning does not repair lost colour, damaged finishes or existing faults. Do not add new rooms or specialist work at the end as though they were automatically included in a broad request to clean the home.
Keep a brief record for the next booking. If the same task repeatedly remains unfinished, discuss a different priority list, time, team size or service type. Ask about the actual follow-up process and applicable terms; do not assume a free repeat visit or a guarantee that every possible task will fit the same duration.
An example of a clear household request
A family wants help with two bathrooms, the kitchen’s accessible surfaces and floors, and some ironing if time remains. They send the area, room information and materials preference, identify delicate surfaces and ask for the cleaner count and total. They keep sofa washing separate because it requires its own assessment and drying instructions. The example shows how to describe priorities, not a promise that this list fits every five-hour visit.
For English inquiries, contact 70022290. The hourly department is 30440363, monthly live-in inquiries are handled on 70044420 and general services on 70338000. Send the relevant household brief and request a confirmed service, scope, total and appointment. A clear agreement makes it easier to organise the home and review the work without relying on an undefined promise that a house maid service includes everything.
When a home also contains a work area
If a room is used as a home office, explain which accessible surfaces are included and which documents, screens or equipment should remain untouched. Do not assume that general room cleaning includes handling electronic devices, sorting business records or disconnecting equipment. Clear the agreed surfaces yourself where needed and provide relevant care instructions. A locked cabinet or a restricted desk area should be identified before work starts, not discovered only when somebody is already trying to organise it.
The same principle applies when you book on behalf of a relative or manage more than one property. Keep each address, task list and receiver separate in the booking messages. A previous quotation for one home does not establish the scope or appointment for another. Ask the department to confirm the updated location and requirements, and share that confirmation with the person receiving the cleaner. This avoids a visit being assessed against information that belongs to a different property or an earlier version of the request.
